Considering the Lilies
C. P. Stewart
Thursday 26 May 2011
6.30pm–8pm
Admission free

We are delighted to announce that C. P. Stewart will be the guest
reader this month as we celebrate his new publication. Following the success of
Taking It In, his first chapbook of poetry (Koo Press, 2009), a full volume
of his work, Considering the Lilies, has been published by Wordsonthestreet,
Galway, Ireland (£10).
Simply beautiful, Gerard Rochford writes of these poems. Poem after poem of
spare writing, sometimes dark, follows to the letter Keith Douglas' dictum that
every word must earn its place.
Also bring along a poem or two of your own for the open mic session.

C. P. Stewart lives with his family in North Yorkshire. Formerly
singer/songwriter with the cult band Laughing Gravy, his poetry has been widely
published in Canada, Australia, Ireland, England and the United States. For two
years he was the Poetry Editor of Sotto Voce arts and literary magazine (U.S.).
